Verstappen had communication problems on board during the race of the Canadian Grand Prix. The Dutchman could not make himself audible to his team. Things went well the other way round and Red Bull Racing coached Verstappen to victory in the final laps.

At least from the restart after the safety car with sixteen laps to go, Verstappen was unable to talk to his team. The Red Bull driver had a fast Carlos Sainz breathing down his neck ready to take over the race lead, but the team thwarted that by providing Verstappen with all the information he might need.

Verstappen's personal engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, signalled the gap to Sainz several times a lap at crucial spots on the track. In the final lap, Verstappen was given special instructions to pull the RB18 across the finish line first. That final stint in which Verstappen and Sainz fought for victory was already exciting on television, but from the cockpit of Verstappen with the onboard radio that final sprint seems even more intense.
