Bottas stays ahead of Verstappen, Alonso spins after contact with Gasly
- GPblog.com
Valtteri Bottas stayed ahead of Max Verstappen at the start of the Turkish Grand Prix. As a result, the 24-year-old Dutchman still lies in second place, with the Mercedes driver pulling away. The biggest victim of the start was Fernando Alonso.
The Spaniard started from P5, but the Alpine driver fell back after a spin. Pierre Gasly nipped the two-time world champion on the rear wheel and there was no stopping Alonso. Lewis Hamilton is in ninth place after two laps. He was able to overtake Sebastian Vettel on the track and took advantage of Alonso's loss.
