A member of Ferrari is to report to the stewards at the Las Vegas Grand Prix at midnight local time. They have to come and explain a possible infringement, as they will be fitting new parts to Carlos Sainz's Ferrari. His car was badly damaged by a loose manhole cover.
This includes preparing a new chassis for Sainz. His power unit will also be replaced. This would put him over the permitted amount. The team has submitted a request, according to documentation from the FIA, and it looks like dispensation is being asked for.
If no dispensation is given, it could mean Sainz has to incur a grid penalty.
