Jenson Button believes Lando Norris will be able to defeat Max Verstappen in the final six Grands Prix of the season, in order to take his first ever Formula One title. The gap currently at 52 points between the two drivers in the standings. However, he also underlined an important strenght Verstappen has.

According to the 2009 world champion, a tough challenge awaits Max Verstappen to earn his fourth Formula One title in the current season. When asked in Sky Sports F1 Podcast about could Norris win the title this season, the Briton said: "Yes, I think he [Norris] can."

Button has previously been in a situation similar to Verstappen's. In 2009, Brawn GP began the season strong, however, entering the second half of the year, Red Bull Racing and Sebastian Vettel were chasing the Red Bull down. However, Button also believes the Dutchman is better equipped to deal with the pressure than he was at the time when he managed to carry his lead home.

"You're having someone chasing you down and it's tough. Max is a tough cookie, he really is in terms of… I don't think the pressures really get to him like most drivers but this is a tricky situation," the former McLaren driver said.

He continued: "He's already got into his head from what I hear is that he's not going to win another race this year. So it's basically just he's in a position where he's just going to come home bring points. But sometimes when you've put that pressure on yourself it's even harder to get a podium. It still is up in the air. Max is in a good position but it's a high pressure position that he's in."
