F1 LIVE | Qualifying for Las Vegas
What has happened so far?
In FP1 and FP2, we saw both Red Bulls struggle significantly. On the other hand, the Mercedes drivers have been absolutely dominating the practice sessions, with Lewis Hamilton taking the fastest lap for the first two sessions and George Russell taking the fastest lap in FP3. Alex Albon also struggled on Thursday, having caused a reg flag during FP2 after being in the garage with a fuel system issue for most of the session. He wasn't the only reg flag, with Lance Stroll causing a red flag due to power unit issues.
Could Norris have a chance to continue the championship battle?
Long story short, yes. Red Bull has been consistently slower than usual this week, and neither driver has produced optimal results. Verstappen ended FP2 17th fastest, while Norris has been the quicker driver. If Red Bull continues to have issues, we may see the championship battle live another race week. FP3 ended with Norris being 4th and Verstappen being 5th. There was a measly 0.567 seconds between them. But in qualifying even the smallest amount of seconds counts.
