Sergio Perez once again got eliminated early on in a qualifying session. This time, in Sprint Qualifying at the Losail International Circuit, the Mexican once again failed to reach even the second session. Christian Horner was not satisfied his result, he told Viaplay on Friday evening.

Horner says Perez 'desperately' needs a result

In SQ1, Sergio Perez finished in P16, getting knocked out once again early on. The Mexican did have a moment where he had a 'battle' with Charles Leclerc on a straight and into some corners, but team principal Christian Horner did not want to use that moment as an excuse.

"I'm not sure what wass going on with Charles. Unfortunately Checo just hasn’t managed to get enough out of the car to get through the SQ2. So, frustrating to lose him in SQ1. So we'll have a look at the data and see what we can change after the sprint race tomorrow," Horner said.

"Checo desperately needs a good result. I mean he's had a horrible season since Monaco so he desperately needs  to get a big result here or next weekend," the Briton concluded. In 'regular' qualifying, after the Las Vegas GP, 'Checo' was eliminated from Q1 on six occasions in the 2024 season.
