Former F1 driver Sir Jackie Stewart answered the question that is on everyone's mind. Can Lewis Hamilton win an eighth championship? And can he do it with Ferrari? After the battle between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, Stewart says that he isn't counting Hamilton or Ferrari out.

Sir Jackie Stewart was a British Formula 1 driver from 1965-1973. Not only does he have three world championships under his belt, but just like Lewis Hamilton, he has been awarded an Order of the British Empire award. While Hamilton is a Member of the British Empire (MBE), Stewart is an Officer of the British Empire (OBE).

Hamilton 'knows the business well'

Talking to Sky Sports, Stewart was asked about Hamilton's move to Ferrari and what that could mean for his future. He said, "He’s more experienced than he was last year and the years before that he knows the business very well." As for Hamilton going to Ferrari, Stewart acknowledges the brand for what it is. "Ferrari is the biggest name in the world. If you went to a Masai warrior in the middle of Africa and said, "Do you know anything about Ferrari? They would know the name Ferrari."

He continued, "For Lewis, I was surprised he was going there." Stewart then mentioned his own career path, and about him not ever driving for the Italians. "I nearly went to Ferrari, and I chose not to do it, and in the end, but in that time, the old man was a tough cookie."

The three-time world champion, who achieved his titles in 1969, 1971 and 1973, concluded, "Going to Ferrari is very colourful, very exciting and usually very successful. I wouldn’t count them out, to put it that way."
