Red Bull junior Lindblad in action on behalf of Racing Bulls at Imola

Red Bull supertalent Lindblad completes first TPC with Racing Bulls

On Thursday, British supertalent Arvid Lindblad will completed his first TPC (testing of previous car) event at the Imola circuit with Racing Bulls. The youngster drove the AT04, the car used by the team when they were named AlphaTauri back in 2023.

Lindblad got his first taste of a TPC event in Imola for Racing Bulls, Autosport reported. The 17-year-old drove the AlphaTauri car from two years ago, as at such test, only cars from the '21, '22, and '23 season could be used over the course of this year. Earlier this month, both Racing Bulls full-time drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Isack Hadjar ran tests with the car from the same season at the same track.

While it was the young talent's first TPC, it was not the first time he drove a Formula One car. The first time he drove a Formula One car was last January, where he drove the RB8 from 2012 in Houston, Texas. That season, Sebastian Vettel earned his third title with the team, and Red Bull also took home the constructors' title.

Lindblad on his way towards F1?

This season, the driver who was called by top advisor Helmut Marko the biggest talent they have at the Red Bull junior team, will compete in Formula 2. He will take the seat Isack Hadjar had the previous season at Campos Racing, and he will also have the same teammate as the Frenchman did, Pepe Marti.

The 17-year-old also recently won the Formula Regional Oceania championship in New Zealand, and therefore he now has enough points that is required for a super license. Still, as he is yet to turn 18, Red Bull would need to file a request to the FIA to in order for him to get one. That will not be needed after his birthday on 8 August.
