Media session upended by Alonso: 'Ask away, I won't answer'

It's clear that Aston Martin is not having the easiest start to their 2025 campaign. Were the team hoping for more before coming to Australia? Are they having correlation issues? Who knows. What is clear is that their lead driver, Fernando Alonso has had enough of post-practice session questions.

Asked what he had learned following FP2, Alonso put his foot down. "Nothing, and if I learn something, I will not tell you," said the Spaniard to F1 TV, categorically.

“We come here because it’s mandatory, but there is nothing really to talk about. We just jump out of the car and as usual," said a clear Alonso, before warning all journalists. "It will be 24 Fridays like now that you can ask anything, I will not answer."

Alonso's 'insightful' conclussion to his practice run

When pressed further for comments on how the session had gone, he emphasised that the information gathered was not of public use. "I need to review everything now with my team and privately discuss what we did today."

After that, he did however share some conclusions following FP2. "We did laps. The car goes. Engine is alive. Brakes are okay. Gearbox is changing gears up and down," concluded the two-time world champion.
