From Friday, January 14 to Saturday, January 15, the 24 Hours of Dubai will be held at the Dubai Autodrome circuit. Earlier this week Jos Verstappen withdrew from participating in the race. The father of Max was supposed to get into the car on behalf of Team GP-Elite, but will now be replaced by Larry ten Voorde. In total, there are 24 Dutch on the entry list.

Five Dutch teams in Dubai

A total of five Dutch teams are competing in the 24 Hours of Dubai. NKPP Racing by Bas Koeten Racing (with Gijs Bessem, Harry Hilders, Bob Herber and Daan Meijer), Team GP-Elite 1 (with Larry ten Voorde, Thierry Vermeulen, Roger Hodenius and Steven van Rhee), Team GP-Elite 2 (with Lucas Groeneveld, Jesse van Kuijk, Daan van Kuijk and Max van Splunteren), Red Camel-Jordans.nl (with Ivo Breukers, Julius Adomavičius (LIT), Morris Schuring and Jeroen Bleekemolen) and MP Motorsport (with Henk de Jong, Daniel de Jong, Bert de Heus and Jaap van Lagen).

Besides the Dutch teams, five more Dutchmen can be found with other teams. Paul Sieljes (Autorama Motorsport by WolfPower Racing), Danny van Dongen (RHC Jorgensen-Strom by Century), Roelof Bruins (AtlasBX Motorsports), Indy Dontje (Al Manar Racing by HRT) and Rik Breukers (Barwell Motorsport).

MP Motorsport got off to the best start of the race. The team started from pole position in the GT3-PRO/AM class and ninth overall. Live timing of the Dubai 24 Hours can be followed here.
