Horner: 'In Formula 1 we don't save lives, it's just a sport'

Red Bull Racing had to wait a long time, but at last Christian Horner's team can once again compete for the two World Championships. The team still has a chance to win both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships. According to Horner it's something the team has worked hard for.
Exactly what Red Bull has been working for
In his column on the Red Bull Racing website, Horner looked back on this season. "Fighting for two world championships is exactly what we worked hard for. We're going into the last few races and it's very exciting. In previous years we would have bitten your arm off to be in this position at this point in the championship."
After a difficult few years, Red Bull wanted to get back to fighting at the top for the titles. "Although it has been an intense year, the pressure is something we put on ourselves. Thanks to our experience, we only worry about the things we can control, rather than the things we can't, especially now when the stakes are high."
Horner relishes championship battle
Verstappen is just eight points ahead in the Drivers' Championship and Red Bull are five points behind in the Constructors' Championship. An exciting battle. "I've really enjoyed this championship and the fact that we've been able to battle it out with Mercedes and Lewis has been a phenomenal season so far. Some people thrive under pressure and some people shy away from it, but I've always felt that I perform at my best under pressure and it feels no different to any other campaign."
While winning championships is the ultimate goal for Horner, he is able to keep Formula One in perspective. "In F1 we don't save lives, it's just a sport. It's intense competition, but there are other things that are important too. Spending time with the family and a walk with the dogs, that's how I unwind."
