Full results FP3 Abu Dhabi | Hamilton two tenths ahead of Verstappen
- GPblog.com
The last practice session of the year is over. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen drove on the limit in the final stage to show what they are worth and what they can do in qualifying. Hamilton had the fastest time and Verstappen followed by two tenths.
Hamilton dominant in final practice
Mercedes dominated the last free practice session. The Mercedes started the session on the red tyre and set fast lap times. Red Bull Racing took it a bit easier and started the practice on the medium tyre with more fuel on board. It seems that Red Bull Racing's performance isn't quite what it should be. Mercedes on the other hand was focussed on qualifying from the start.
Yet Hamilton's performance wasn't entirely smooth either. The Briton braked several times, had to abandon several fast laps and was troubled by traffic around him. Hamilton has the best start to the afternoon's qualifying, but it looks like anything can happen and Verstappen has not shown his best yet.
