Richard Verschoor will be seen in Formula 2 again this coming season. The Dutch driver confirmed on Tuesday that he has secured a seat with the Trident team.

Verschoor will be racing in F2 for the second year in a row. His first season he drove for the Dutch team MP Motorsport, where he also had a seat in Formula 3. Verschoor took his first victory in the racing class during the second sprint race at Silverstone. He eventually finished eleventh in the driver's championship. On Twitter Verschoor reacts to the news. "Better late than never. I am very excited to join Trident for the 2022 season. Extremely grateful to my loyal and new partners for this season."

Very last seat for Verschoor

The seat at Trident was the very last seat left in the racing class, so Verschoor has been lucky. Debutant Calan Williams will be his new teammate, making the switch from F3. Verschoor will be the only Dutch driver on the grid in 2022.
