Perez is aiming for contract extension: 'I'm looking for more stability'

After Red Bull Racing announced a five-year contract extension with Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez made a call to his team. The Mexican would also like to sign a longer contract.
Perez switched to Red Bull Racing for the 2021 season after Racing Point (now Aston Martin) terminated his contract due to the arrival of Sebastian Vettel. The Mexican proved crucial in Verstappen's title victory, as he managed to hold off Lewis Hamilton considerably at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Especially during the final phase of the season Perez collected important points.
Originally Perez signed a one-year deal with Red Bull. The team extended his contract for a second season after his promising performance. Still, the Mexican would like more security after the immense deal between Verstappen and Red Bull.
Perez wants more stability
"I think we're very happy. I'm very happy with the team and how we did this season - let's see how soon we talk about the new contract again. Without a doubt I would like something longer. [I’m] looking for a little more stability in terms of knowing and being able to plan more with a team", Perez is quoted by Express ahead of the test days in Bahrain.
