Hill sees remarkable motivation and passion in Hamilton

After the thrilling denouement of the Formula 1 season in Abu Dhabi, Lewis Hamilton disappeared from the radar for a few weeks. It caused the rumour mill to turn overtime with suggestions that the Mercedes driver was retiring, but nothing turned out to be further from the truth.
Hamilton more motivated than ever
When Hamilton finally returned to the public eye, he proved more motivated than ever. The Briton revealed that he has not hesitated for a moment to leave Formula 1 and that we can even expect the best Hamilton ever in 2022.
Damon Hill even thinks that the disappointment of missing out on the title in Abu Dhabi has brought something good to Hamilton, the 1996 world champion reveals to Formel1.de. Although Hill agrees that he does not know exactly what is going on in Hamilton's head, he thinks it could well be that missing out on the title has somehow relieved Hamilton of the pressure.
No proof needed of Hamilton's class
Hamilton is on par with Michael Schumacher when it comes to the number of world titles, but sits well at the top of the lists with most wins, pole positions, podium finishes and World Championship points. Since his debut in 2007 Hamilton has won at least one Grand Prix each season, and according to Hill, therefore, no further proof of Hamilton's class is needed. Even if Hamilton does not manage to win his eighth title, he has had a fantastic career.
Hill finds the motivation and passion with which Hamilton will start his 16th season this weekend all the more remarkable. Hill says that he gave everything to win the title once, but that he doubts that, like Hamilton, he could give everything year after year. That's a lot of pressure to put on yourself, Hill admits.
