It's barely April. But if a word of the year were to be chosen in Formula 1, it would undoubtedly be "porpoising". In Imola, too, the necessary teams have to deal with the bounce.

No burden

Red Bull Racing is hardly bothered by the porpoising, according to team boss Christian Horner. He understands better than anyone how difficult it is for teams to solve the problem if it occurs on an F1 car. ""Yeah you can recreate it (porpoising on simulators), it is something difficult to see in a virtual world but you can recreate it," he said in front of SkySports cameras.

But, he adds: "I don't think we have been as badly affected as some of our rivals, and it's not something our drivers are commenting on. If they're not moaning, it's not an issue."

Set-up

Red Bull Racing was also only able to drive on a dry track for the first time today. Nothing more may be changed to the set-up, but that is not a problem according to Horner. "This circuit is green because of the rain yesterday, both drivers have found a nice rhythm and seem settled with the setup. As soon as that red lights goes out, the drivers will go for it. more points at stake so I expect the first few laps to be interesting. The end of the race might come alive with deg."
