Mick Schumacher has yet to score any points in the first five races of 2022. Team boss Guenther Steiner is critical, but according to Ralf Schumacher, the two Haas members do not fit together so well in terms of character.

Schumacher was in a good position to get his first points of the season at the Miami Grand Prix, but his crash with Sebastian Vettel caused him to finish last.

Kevin Magnussen also failed to score any points after an incident with Lance Stroll, so team boss Steiner was anything but satisfied. "We only leave with broken parts", he announced after the race.

Schumacher stands up for his nephew

However, Schumacher believes that his nephew should focus on the positives in Miami. To F1-Insider he says: "Mick was consistently faster than his teammate and he created the basis for himself to finish in the points. He made the difference as a driver in terms of speed. So it's going in the right direction and that's exactly what Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto wants to see."

"Mick and Steiner don't fit together in terms of character. A tough guy like Kevin Magnussen fits Steiner more", Schumacher adds. Magnussen is scoring a lot better than his teammate so far. The Dane is currently in tenth place in the drivers' championship with fifteen points.
