Magnussen understands Hamilton: 'I understand what they are saying'

Kevin Magnussen has no intention of taking off his wedding ring in the future to comply with FIA regulations. He let us know that in conversation with Motorsportweek.com. In his own words he would rather take the risk of things going wrong than listen to the noise of the organization.
For ages, it has been illegal in Formula 1 to wear jewelry or piercings on the track. This season, the race committee came up with a reminder, with Lewis Hamilton in particular vehemently speaking out. The Briton has several piercings and would have to part with them.
Magnussen hopes to keep wedding ring on
Hamilton is not the only driver who disagrees with the rules, however, as Magnussen also believes it is the driver's responsibility. The Dane has his wedding ring on by default and does not think it is necessary to take it off from the upcoming race.
"I understand what they are they saying, but it is a wedding ring around your finger," is how Magnussen explains his position. "If something was going to happen, something bad, I would want to wear my wedding ring. It kind of feels bad to take it off." McLaren team boss Andreas Seidl finds it incomprehensible that drivers are critical of the rule.
