Red Bull puts out clear statement: 'Serious violation'
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing are not happy with the way Aston Martin is acting. Aston Martin's new AMR22 looks suspiciously like the RB18 and according to the Austrian team this is against the rules.
Red Bull won't leave it at that
In a statement Red Bull said: 'Oracle Red Bull Racing have noted the FIA’s statement with interest. While imitation is the greatest form of flattery, any replication of design would obviously need to comply with the FIA’s rules around Reverse Engineering. However, should any transfer of IP have taken place that would clearly be a breach of regulations and would be a serious concern,' according to Erik van Haren's Twitter account.
Red Bull Racing suspects that the leak is with the departed engineers. Aston Martin attracted several people from Red Bull last year, including Dan Fallows. The former head of the organisation would have had access to these details and Red Bull wants a serious investigation to be carried out.
