For fans of an athlete or a sports club, it is to be hoped that Drake does not bet on your favorite athlete or club. Indeed, the rapper did just that this weekend on Charles Leclerc and, not for the first time, lost thousands of euros in the process.
Canadian rapper Drake has a sponsorship deal with the gambling company Stake. As part of the deal, Drake regularly posts his prediction for the weekend online. As "the real connoisseur" he is particularly often wrong, which scares fans in America when their club is bet on. The rapper recently lost 400,000 euros by betting on Justin Gaethje, who lost to Charles Oliveira in the UFC.
Leclerc's retirement costs a lot of money
Prior to the Formula 1 weekend in Spain, Drake revealed his bets for this weekend. He assumed that Leclerc would win the race and fate struck again according to fans. Drake saw his bet of 300,000 Canadian dollars (converted to over 220,000 euros) evaporate when the Ferrari driver retired and the win went to Max Verstappen.
Before the race, Drake was already not so sure of his case, letting it be known that this was his first ever F1 bet: ''Let's see how that goes.'' If Leclerc had won, he could credit 750,000 Canadian dollars, over 550,000 euros.
Drake put $230K on Charles Leclerc to win the Spanish Grand Prix.
