Prior to the third free practice session in Monaco, the setup for Sergio Perez was changed. That probably did the Mexican good, as he immediately set the fastest time of the session.

At the beginning of the afternoon, the drivers prepared as best they could for the all-important qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix. With pole position in their pocket, a driver has a good chance of taking the win on Sunday, as overtaking on the tight streets is very challenging.

For FP3, the Red Bull Racing team first adjusted Sergio Perez's setup, as Christian Horner reveals to Sky Sports F1. That probably helped the Mexican a lot, as he was able to set the fastest time right away. "A lot of work last night with the engineering teams, a few little changes for today. This track is a confidence track so you have got to be able to give the drivers confidence here," the Red Bull Racing team boss says.

Ferrari the favourite in Monaco

Despite Sergio Perez setting the fastest time in the third free practice session, Horner sees Ferrari as the favorite for qualifying and therefore the race. The team boss does draw some hope from the fact that the track is getting a little better lap by lap and that his drivers can thereby close the gap to Ferrari.

Possibly, this can only make little difference for Sergio Perez. He has been called to the stewards for blocking George Russell and could possibly receive a grid penalty for this. Carlos Sainz received a reprimand for his incident in FP3.
