Verstappen honest: 'I think that Leclerc is too far ahead'

Max Verstappen has had an unfortunate qualifying session in Monaco. The Dutchman hoped to go for pole position prior to the race weekend but eventually had to settle for a fourth starting position. In the press release from Red Bull Racing, he clearly shows his dissatisfaction.
His disappointing qualifying by no means came out of the blue. Verstappen has been having problems with the competition all weekend, finishing in fourth position in all three free practice sessions. The same happened in qualifying, which means he will start Sunday afternoon with Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez ahead of him.
"It was very unfortunate as I think we could have done better than fourth," Verstappen responded. "Not pole position, because I think that Charles is too far ahead, but I think we could have at least got second place."
Verstappen hopes for rain in Monaco
Since overtaking is difficult in Monaco, Verstappen knows that something has to happen on the track to have a chance at victory. "I think I need to do a little rain dance tonight, shake it up a bit for the race tomorrow because in the dry you cannot pass around here."
