After the successful Netflix series Drive To Survive, Formula 1 seems to be coming up with a new plan for fans who love movies and series. Apple has managed to secure the rights to make a Formula One movie. So after four seasons on Netflix, F1 is trying to attract an even bigger audience with a movie in Apple's name.

Deadline.com have reported the story. In January, they announced that Apple was in talks about a racing movie. The film will be directed by the man behind Top Gun: Maverick, Joseph Kosinski. He was supposed to direct the film 'Ford v Ferrari', but due to budgetary problems that never came to pass and the film came about in an alternative way, without Kosinski.

Special role for Hamilton

So now he will get another chance and he will do it together with Brad Pitt, who will play the lead role. The story will reportedly be about a racer who comes back from retirement and fights against young drivers at the top of motorsport. With this decision, Formula One is making even more strides to connect the American public with Formula One. Another notable name in the news from Deadline.com is the name of Lewis Hamilton, who will be involved in the production of the film.

The seven-time world champion has hinted many times that he likes to do things outside of Formula 1, and this seems like a new job for the Mercedes driver. It is still unknown what the film will be called and when it will be made. It seems that it will take some time before the fans can enjoy the new film about Formula 1.
