Besides Formula 1, Formula 2 will also be in action during the upcoming Grand Prix weekend in Baku. The F2 is the main stepping stone to the premier class of motor sport and is therefore packed with top talents fighting to prove themselves. Find out which drivers to keep an eye on and when they will be in action.
Formula 2 has now completed five races and is approaching the halfway point of the season, which consists of fourteen races in total. The Brazilian Felipe Drugovich is currently head and shoulders above the rest: with 112 points he has a 31 point lead over Theo Pourchaire. He built up this lead mainly in the last two races in Barcelona and Monaco, where he managed to collect a considerable number of points.
Drugovich and Pourchaire lead the field in F2
For now, the battle for the title in Formula 2 seems to be between Drugovich and Pourchaire. The latter may have fallen slightly behind his rival, but it should be noted that the Frenchman has one retirement to his name. At the other races, the Alfa Romeo junior driver continuously scored good points.
Third in the championship is Red Bull Racing-junior Jehan Daruvala. From there, the championship is very close: only eleven points separate him and Enzo Fittipaldi, who is seventh.
In between is another Red Bull talent in the form of Juri Vips, who is in a provisional fifth place. Liam Lawson follows close behind in eighth place, so Red Bull is very well represented in the class.
