Red Bull Racing suddenly has two drivers fighting for the world title. Sergio Perez is fifteen points behind championship leader Max Verstappen. In theory, the Mexican can even pass the reigning champion in the standings next weekend in Baku.

Having speed

Perez is currently in great form. His victory in Monaco was the ultimate proof of that. Helmut Marko, Red Bull's advisor, therefore believes Perez can become champion this season. "But then he has to have the speed and beat Max clearly on the track," Marko in conversation with RTL/ntv.

Marko emphasizes not for the first time that Red Bull generally does not have a designated first and second driver. Yet the Austrian sees Verstappen as the first man in the team. According to him, Verstappen's four wins and Perez's one win speak for themselves: "Max is the most constistent. In terms of speed, Max is the number one."

Two titles?

A strong Perez could well help Red Bull capture both the drivers' and constructors' championships for the first time since 2013. "The chances are good, because we have two strong drivers," says Marko. In 2013, it was Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber who helped Red Bull to the title.
