Once again, Charles Leclerc was unable to post a great result in his home race in Monaco. The Monegasque finished fourth after starting from pole. The Ferrari driver says he assumes that similar mistakes will be a thing of the past from now on.
Mistakes in Monaco
Leclerc says in the press conference prior to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix that there was much to analyze after the race in Monaco. The 24-year-old driver admits that some mistakes were made in Monaco, but remains positive. "What gives me the confidence in the future is that we found the reasons why we made those mistakes as a team," he is quoted by FormulaPassion.it.
New opportunities in Baku
So a repeat of mistakes seems out of the question at the Baku City Circuit. "If we do everything perfect then I think we will get a great result," Leclerc continued.
Even before the first free practice has started, Leclerc already has an idea about the set-up. He expects it to be a set-up that is specially adapted to high speeds. "I am sure that we will miss some speed compared to Red Bull," the Ferrari driver says. As in 2021, Leclerc hopes to be on pole, only this time without losing the lead in the race.
