Red Bull sees concept mirrors copied by Ferrari in Baku

Ferrari has brought two major updates for this weekend in Azerbaijan. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will have a new rear wing and new mirrors at the Baku street circuit. The mirrors are attached differently than was the case in the first seven Grands Prix of the season and should provide improved aerodynamics.
The modifications are based on the geometry used by Red Bull's direct rivals. It can be seen that the mirrors are attached to the side of the car's cockpit with an additional 'internal' support. Whereas Ferrari's mirrors had a curved shape earlier in 2022, it is now more square.
In the first free practice session, it quickly became clear that it would take Ferrari's drivers some getting used to driving with these new mirrors. Charles Leclerc told his race engineer over the board radio: "I can't see anything with these mirrors." Fortunately, there is still plenty of time for the men from Maranello to make some minor adjustments here and there to improve visibility.
