Lewis Hamilton is not worried about the ban on jewellery in Formula 1. The Briton is a little peeved that it is still a topic of conversation, because according to him there are plenty of other more important things that should get more attention. He tells this in Great Britain.

This season, the race committee was going to enforce more strictly at the request of the FIA. It found a rule stating that jewellery and piercings are forbidden and so F1's governing body pushed this through. Much to the displeasure of the drivers, with Lewis Hamilton as leader. In Silverstone the ban would now really be implemented, but Hamilton is not concerned with that.

Hamilton sees more important things

"It's kind of crazy to think that with everything that's going on in the world that is the focus of people. We've really got to start focusing on other more important areas," Hamilton is quoted by Reuters. Amongst other things, the British driver is of course referring to the incidents of Nelson Piquet and Juri Vips regarding the use of the N-word.

The seven-time world champion will therefore 'just' be in action at the tenth Grand Prix of the season. "I will be racing this weekend. I will be working with the FIA. I would say the matter is not particularly massively important. I will work with (FIA president) Mohammed (Ben Sulayem) and his team so we can progress forwards."

Wolff sees no problems

Toto Wolff also stated to the aforementioned medium that there is a storm in a glass of water. Indeed, talks are already underway with the FIA. "This has been such a long-discussed topic and they've come to a consensus. There won't be an issue", said the Mercedes team boss.
