Hamilton makes clear demand for longer stay in Mercedes: 'Will take time'

Lewis Hamilton is still under contract with Mercedes until the end of 2023. Although there is a chance that both parties will part company at the end of next season, the driver has not ruled out being part of the German team again in 2024.
The seven-time world champion finished second in France on Sunday afternoon and that does not seem to be a fluke. The Brit has been very sharp on the track for the past few weekends. The last four Grands Prix resulted in a podium each time.
Hamilton talks about longer stay
In France he drove his 300th race of his career. Toto Wolff then announced last weekend that he would like to add at least another hundred races to Hamilton's list. Hamilton does not find that a strange thought either.
"That's a lot of races!" He said at the FIA press conference. "I firstly just want to be grateful to get to this point. But I still feel fresh and still feel like I've got plenty of fuel left in the tank. So, I'm enjoying what I'm doing."
"Of course, I want to get back to winning ways and that's going to take time, but I'm sure we'll sit down at some stage and talk about the future. But again, just with our team, I always want to continue to be building."
