Helmut Marko does not sound very optimistic after Friday's free practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Red Bull advisor called Ferrari's pace "frightening" and expects it will be difficult to beat the Italians.

Marko believes Red Bull will only have a chance of pole position if there is rain during qualifying. The Austrian told Sky Germany after FP2: "The changes we made between the first and second practice were definitely not productive or did nothing."

Marko: 'It will be very difficult'

"It got worse before, so we have to see if we can find a better compromise there. But especially on the medium tyre the superiority of the Ferrari is frightening. It will be very, very difficult and you can't count on anything going wrong [at Ferrari]," Marko continued.

On Saturday, there is a high chance of precipitation during qualifying, but on Sunday it looks set to remain dry for the time being. The temperature will drop quite a bit, but whether that will be enough to beat Ferrari in the race remains to be seen. In any case, Red Bull has plenty of work to do to find the right set-up.
