Marko clear on Gasly contract: 'There is no exit clause'

The Formula 1 season is only half over, but behind the scenes the teams are already busy preparing for next season. Since there is a vacant seat at Alpine, rumours circulated that Pierre Gasly might fill it. According to Helmut Marko that is impossible, as he emphasised in conversation with the German Sport1.
Alpine suddenly had to deal with the news just before the summer break that Fernando Alonso was leaving for Aston Martin at the end of the season. It then hoped to appoint Oscar Piastri, but the Australian driver seems to be working for McLaren. Therefore, Alpine might have to look for another successor.
The name of Gasly came up. The Frenchman has already renewed his contract at AlphaTauri, but that contract would contain an early retirement clause. It would be a new opportunity for Gasly to prove himself at Alpine.
Marko clarifies Gasly rumours
Marko tells the German newspaper that there is no such clause. He can therefore say with certainty that Gasly can also be admired at AlphaTauri in 2023. "There is no exit clause for Gasly", Marko responds clearly. "There wasn't one before the summer break and there won't be one after the summer break."
