Stoffel Vandoorne has won the Formula E World Championship in the final race of the season. Title rival Mitch Evans could not make things difficult for the Belgian from the thirteenth starting position. Vandoorne succeeds Nyck de Vries as world champion.

Trailing by 21 points, Evans had a difficult task ahead of him to win the race from the thirteenth starting spot. The win was his only chance of winning the title. Things looked better for championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne from fourth position.

At the start, Evans and Vandoorne both got away unscathed. The Belgian maintained his fourth position, while Evans immediately gained two places and moved up to 11th. After a few laps De Vries made contact with Pascal Wehrlein, ending the Dutchman's race. De Vries received a time penalty for the incident, but this did not affect him from the garage. His retirement fortunately did not have a bad effect on the Constructors' Championship, as Lucas Di Grassi finished outside the points, allowing Mercedes to take the title.

Trouble-free race Vandoorne

After a safety car, Jake Dennis and Antonio Felix da Costa clashed, causing Da Costa to fall back to the back. This caused Vandoorne to move up a place to P3. The Mercedes driver was then put under pressure by Robin Frijns in P4, but he cleverly solved the problem by using his attack mode to create a gap to the rest of the field.

Dennis received a five-second time penalty in the closing stages of the race for the incident with Da Costa, which allowed Vandoorne to move up another place. In the end, the former Formula 1 driver finished second and secured the world title. Evans made up a few more places and moved up to seventh, but it was not nearly enough to challenge Vandoorne. Edoardo Mortara won the race in Seoul, while Dennis still finished on the podium.
