Alpine CEO enjoys: 'One of the hires I’m most proud of'

Laurent Rossi is very happy with the way Otmar Szafnauer is doing his job, the Alpine CEO tells us in conversation with The Race. Szafnauer is only in his first season as team boss of the French racing stable, but is already impressing him.
The past few months have been very hectic for Alpine. Fernando Alonso decided to swap the formation for Aston Martin after the season, after which it hoped to appoint Oscar Piastri as his successor. However, the driver claimed to know nothing and had no intention of competing for Alpine next year.
Confidence in Szafnauer is high at Alpine
Indeed, behind the scenes, the Australian was working to secure a place at McLaren, which he eventually succeeded in doing. The whole situation then caused some criticism towards Szafnauer, who must start looking for a successor. Rossi believes the team's leader is actually showing excellent work.
"Otmar is one of the hires I’m most proud of, because he’s delivering every day since he arrived," Rossi said. "I trust him fully, he is doing an excellent job. So it gives me that peace of mind, I trust he is going to continue growing the team."
