Alexander Albon is very pleased with the way Williams has shown this season. Although the British racing team have just six points, putting them in last place in the constructors' championship, the driver notices that his team has improved the car considerably.

At the start of the season, Albon returned to Formula 1 at Williams and was given the leaden task of replacing George Russell who left for Mercedes. Whereas his new teammate Nicholas Latifi is still without points and will leave at the end of the season, Albon managed to bring in four points. The other two points are in the name of substitute Nyck de Vries.

At the team, however, Albon is noticing progress. "The first few races, we obviously had moments where we were okay," Albon states in conversation with Give Me Sport. "But as you can see, throughout the year, we’ve made some great steps forward with this new package."

Big challenge in F1 according to De Vries

Albon's previous time in the motorsport class was with Red Bull Racing. The driver notices big differences between the periods at the Austrian racing team and Williams, not just talking about the differences in quality. After all, Formula 1 teams cannot simply spend more money.

"Of course, it’s a bit trickier this year with the budget cap and you can’t just throw things at every race weekend and see if it works or not, you have to be very selective," Albon told the interview. Next weekend, the Singapore Grand Prix is on the programme.
