Verstappen makes Perez a promise in Abu Dhabi: 'Then that's what we'll do'

Max Verstappen incurred the wrath of Sergio Perez in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Red Bull Racing instructed him to pass his teammate, but the Dutchman refused. According to Verstappen, however, he had his reasons for doing so.
"We just discussed all of those together," he told Viaplay. "I think it was good that we sat down together to discuss why that was. I'm not going to say why, but that's why I didn't do it. If we go to Abu Dhabi and Checo needs the points to finish ahead of Charles [Leclerc], that's what we'll do."
Verstappen disappointed with race management
At the start of the race, Verstappen suffered severe disappointment. The two-time world champion tried to get past Lewis Hamilton, but the Brit did not give his rival any space and drove into him. It caused Verstappen to have to make an early pit stop.
"I tried to go around the outside and immediately saw that he would not give me space. Then we both went off," said Verstappen, who did not understand why he got a five-second time penalty. "I don't agree with that at all. None of that matters in the end."
