Ferrari have presented the new SF-24 for the 2024 Formula 1 season. As expected, the new car driven by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz is mainly red, with yellow and white accents. Check out the new car here.

Ferrari took a step back in the constructors' standings in 2023. Whereas in 2022 it still came second, in 2023 they were not able to beat Mercedes. Red Bull Racing had fallen too far out of the picture in the first place. Ferrari was still a challenger for the Austrian racing stable in early 2022, but in 2023 Max Verstappen's team was barely beatable.

What are Ferrari's chances in 2024?

Ferrari were, however, the only team besides Red Bull Racing to manage to win a Grand Prix. Carlos Sainz ran away with the win in Singapore. In the closing stages of the season, Ferrari got stronger and stronger under team principal Frederic Vasseur, but the team fell just short of second place in the constructors' standings.

Things must improve in 2024 and so Ferrari too are choosing to go down the Red Bull route. Adrian Newey and his team are the benchmark for the competition and so are for Ferrari. Leclerc and Sainz will get a car more like Red Bull's in 2024 with the SF-24. Whether it will also be enough for more race wins will have to be seen in the coming season.

2024 will also be Carlos Sainz's last year in Ferrari. His expiring contract was not renewed. Indeed, Ferrari pulled a stunt by bringing in Lewis Hamilton for 2025. The Briton will become the teammate of Charles Leclerc in 2025, who earlier did sign a multi-year deal.
