After Andretti Cadillac was told no spot for the team on the F1 grid was available for the time being, the Americans did not stop their efforts by any means. Indeed, in the meantime they have continued working hard to realise their F1 dream, which extends beyond the premier class of motorsport. Indeed, Andretti also want to compete in Formula 2 and Formula 3. The CEO of that step-up class made it clear on Thursday that to do so, there will be a long, complicated road ahead.

Speaking to GPblog, among others, the Frenchman revealed that the F3 grid is full with 30 cars, while Michel is not keen on expanding the F2 grid either. Moreover, there will be no exception in the application process for Andretti. GPblog asked Andretti Global's team for a reaction to Bruno Michel's words.

Andretti come out with statement on F2 and F3

The Americans report: "As we’ve stated publicly, joining both F2 and F3 will be a target for us alongside being on the F1 grid. We find these programs to be important to team and driver development, and development is a key are of focus and dedication across our global family of race teams."

"As our entry process into F1 is ongoing, we have not yet entered into direct discussions with F2 and F3 series organizers and that will come in due course. We have however, in the meantime, had productive discussions with existing teams. We, of course, respect the entry process and would follow entry protocol."
