The F2 championship is very close. Entering the sprint, only half a point separated Gabriel Bortoleto and Isack Hadjar. Thanks to finishing second, the Brazilian could extend his lead, but the championship will be decided on Sunday.

Sprint Race results

Josep "Pepe" Martí placed first, with Bortoleto finishing second in the Sprint Race at the Yas Marina Circuit. Martí went three-wide into Turn 1, but once he got the lead, he did not look back. Bortoleto now takes a 5.5-point lead over Hadjar in the battle for the F2 championship. In the end, Hadjar also completed an impressive comeback, given he was outside the points during the first few laps.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli did not race as he was sick, but his Prema teammate and friend Oliver Bearman placed fifth after receiving a 5-second time penalty.

The championship battle between Bortoleto and Hadjar will continue in the final race tomorrow. If Hadjar places first and Bortoleto places second, Hadjar will be crowned champion by 0.5 points.
