Hamilton's weakness discovered: 'He never could' do what Schumacher did

Lewis Hamilton lacks one key component in his arsenal, according to Ralf Schumacher, which could get him in trouble at Ferrari. The seven time world champion would not be as good at working with engineers on the car, something Michael Schumacher managed to do, according to the German champion's brother, Ralf Schumacher.

In 2025, Hamilton will make the switch from Mercedes to Ferrari. A huge step for the seven-time world champion, who hopes to win his eighth world title at Ferrari. In that case, he would surpass Michael Schumacher in number of world titles, but Ralf Schumacher thinks Hamilton will not fare so well at the Italian racing stable.

''The biggest difference is that Michael was able to work with the engineers to develop the car so that it suited his driving style perfectly. Lewis cannot do that. He has never been able to do that, if you listen very carefully to what Mercedes' engineers say,'' Schumacher told Sport1.de.

Hamilton cannot develop a car

''Toto Wolff has stressed several times that a driver has to push the throttle and the engineers have to develop the car. However, he also says this because his drivers are apparently unable to give the right input.''

''Michael was completely different. He gave direction to his confidants like Ross Brawn and Jean Todt. That only makes it harder for Lewis, because Charles Leclerc is the top man in the team. Everyone in the team knows him. For Lewis, everything is new at Ferrari.''

For Hamilton, according to Schumacher, it is therefore to be hoped that his driving style is very close to Leclerc's. This is because the Ferrari is tuned to the driving style of monegasque and Carlos Sainz, if Lewis Hamilton's driving style is very different, he will be in trouble, according to German analyst.
