At the Australian Grand Prix, marshals had to complete a few assignments. With six crashes, they had to clear the track on multiple occasions. After the Grand Prix, the top three drivers were asked about the dangerous situation that happened after Fernando Alonso's crash, however, neither of them found that moment dangerous.
After Fernando Alonso's crash, marshals and a lorry had to be on track because of the nature of the Albert Park track. Being a street circuit, that was the only way to clear of the AMR25, and in a moment when the safety car just entered the third sector, one of the lorries suddenly appeared in front of Lando Norris, who led the session.
Verstappen and Norris clear on situation
Norris personally had no issues with that. "That was comfortable," the Briton answered to whether that was a dangerous situation. Verstappen then continued: "I thought that was all fine, yes. I mean, if you crash into that behind the safety car, you're really stupid."
Norris himself then reacted to the Dutchman, taking it a step further. "Shouldn’t be in F1 then!" Lastly, Russell also chipped in, agreeing with the other two drivers who finished on the podium today. "Yes, I think it was all fine," the Mercedes driver concluded.
