Mercedes working on upgrades for Suzuka!
Mercedes may have secured a first 1-2 since the British Grand Prix, but there are very few people that believe they have the best car right now, with Ferrari seemingly a long way ahead in the development race, but Mercedes boss Toto Wolff says that there are upgrades coming for the Silver Arrows.
Of course, it's difficult and totally pointless to predict what would've happened if Sebastian Vettel's MGU-K didn't fail, but it's safe to say Ferrari were favourites for the win, so some upgrades on Mercedes' behalf are due for the run in to the end of the season.
When asked about upgrades for Suzuka in Russia, Wolff replied: “Yes, we are working on them now.
“We are trying to allocate resources on the one hand to continuing to fight this season, and on the other preparing for the next one.”
However, Wolff made sure to mention that the upgrades won't be as serious as the recent Ferrari upgrades, which have seen them win three of the four races since the summer break.
“No, we are talking about small improvements,” he added.
“You can expect that we will continue to make progress, but it will be at a slower rate compared to the summer.”
