Lewis Hamilton highlights his mutual respect with Bottas
Lewis Hamilton has paid tribute to his teammate Valtteri Bottas and the relationship he has with him highlighting the mutual respect they have for each other. The Brit also refused to get ahead of himself as the Championship approaches its conclusion.
Hamilton and Bottas have won 11 races between them this season allowing Hamilton and Mercedes to close in on yet another double and Bottas to earn another contract. In Russia last time out Bottas held Charles Leclerc up so Hamilton could see out the victory in Sochi.
Hamilton has been talking about the pair's relationship and reveals they are very open with each other, highlighting the mutual respect.
"I mean, we work together, so it's about having respect. Let's talk about the possible scenarios very openly," Hamilton said as quoted by Motorbox.
"Valtteri has always been respectful in all these scenarios and I think it is vital that we both act accordingly, which we do."
The Brit also refused to get ahead of himself in the Drivers' Championship as the final few races approach.
"I say it every season, I try not to think too much about the championship. One race and one step at a time. We don't want to stumble," he added.
