Sebastian Vettel is now 32-years-old and is due to start his sixth season at Ferrari in 2020. The four-time world champion will once again come up against youngster Charles Leclerc. With Leclerc signed for the long-term, and many young stars rising, Vettel will have to fight for his seat.

Vettel's former teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, dropped down to the midfield after he was pushed out of Ferrari in favour of the young talent. Come to the end of the 2020 season, and Vettel may have to consider a similar move. The chance that he will then be able to go to another top team is less great. For example, Red Bull Racing has already indicated that their collaboration with Vettel is a thing of the past.

The German does not exclude such a switch but doesn't want to say whether he is really open to it. "I do not know. This is the answer, I think. I really do not know," he told Motorsport.com.

According to the Ferrari driver, the fun you can still have in fighting for the tenth position depends very much on the experience you have gained in the years before. If you are used to finishing in the top 5 for years, fighting for the last point is less interesting. On the other hand, you can also get your motivation from somewhere else, as Raikkonen does now, for example.

“If you take Kimi as an example, he is not going to win now. I think he would like that and if he had the choice he would rather go for the win. But I think you can also find and find pleasure in driving and racing on your own," Vettel added.
