Election most influential person in F1 history: Time for the finals!
- GPblog.com
Now that racing has stopped for a while, the organization has time to organize other competitions. For example, let the fans decide who they think is the most influential person in the history of Formula 1.
Over the past few weeks, Formula 1 asked through all their social media channels which persons they thought had more influence on Formula 1. Via a tournament schedule a total of eight drivers, eight team bosses, eight 'game changers' and eight 'innovators' competed for this title. Because these groups were separated in the schedule, it was never possible for two people from the same group to make it to the finals.
The two finalists are now known. Bernie Ecclestone competes against Michael Schumacher. Not everyone will have expected that last name. On the one hand it's of course logical that the most successful driver in history will go far in this competition, but to reach the final, he had to beat Enzo Ferrari.
Ecclestone's road to the final seemed easier in that respect. He had to beat designer Gordon Murray, a man he once appointed at Brabham. If you want to vote in the finals yourself, click here.
