Bernie Ecclestone was planning a short holiday in Brazil on his estate, but because of the corona pandemic he has been spending his time there since March. A few weeks ago, the former owner of Formula 1 indicated that he was doing fine, but in the meantime the situation has changed.

Chalet in Gstaad

The Brit and his pregnant wife flew to Switzerland in a private jet, where he is now staying in his chalet in Gstaad. The Swiss outlet Blick has spoken to him and the reason for his departure from Brazil is because "Sao Paulo has suddenly become the hotspot of the corona crisis. There are dead people in the middle of the road and the hospitals are overcrowded."

"President Bolsonaro is completely overwhelmed. In this Brazilian chaos with completely overcrowded hospitals, our child should not be born in June. Fortunately, there are no problems in Switzerland," says Ecclestone, who is trying to avoid all risks concerning his wife and unborn child.
