Very high scores for Verstappen in F1 2020; Gasly better than Albon
- GPblog.com
The Codemasters F1 game is expanded every year with additional features and game modes. This year a manager element will be added to the game and drivers will be judged with a points system that is very similar to the system of FIFA.
The drivers will be judged on four points: experience, racing skill, overview and speed. The scores on these four components then determine how the driver performs in both career mode and 'My Team' mode (where you can create your own team).
'Pace' and 'racecraft' speak for themselves. Drivers who score high on this will be faster and easier to overtake during a race. 'Awareness' determines to what extent a driver can keep the car on track in difficult situations and experience determines how many resource points you can earn with a race. You can then use this to upgrade your car.
Gasly better than Albon?
Not all drivers' scores have been announced yet, but we now know his rating of Max Verstappen. It's not surprising that he scores very well on racecraft and pace. On the scale he almost reaches the maximum of 99 points. Only on 'awareness' he is judged more strictly, which results in an overall score of 90.

It is also striking that both Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat are rated better than Alexander Albon. Kvyat does this partly on experience and Gasly mainly on 'awareness'. The mistakes Albon made last year in the free practice sessions are apparently heavily blamed on him.
