After 30 years, the German RTL will withdraw from Formula 1 in 2021. The German channel will no longer report on the races and that will of course have consequences for all employees involved, including Timo Glock. This former Formula 1 driver regularly acts as an expert and he is noticeably emotional in his reaction to the news that RTL is going to quit.

Expert

As a former F1-driver Timo Glock is well informed about the technical matters and thus he regularly explains the images that are shown on RTL Germany. Now that it is known that RTL will say goodbye to Formula 1, Glock has spoken out on Instagram about this news.

"What can I say? It's a pity we won't continue in 2021! I will miss not only Heiko Wasser, Kai Ebel and Florian König, but also Christian Danner. It was great working with the whole RTL crew! Thank you, Manfred Loppe (RTL sports director), for giving me the opportunity to work on the other side of Formula 1. It was a great experience to get an impression of my sport from a journalist's point of view."

Future

Glock hasn't indicated what his future looks like yet. As Sky Germany has been able to obtain the rights, there is a German channel that will continue to broadcast the sport there. It is not yet known whether Glock will work for that station, just like the other reporters mentioned.
