Formula 1 has started a new initiative to raise money for charities. The finish flag that will be used at Grands Prix starting with the Austrian one on July 5th will look a bit different than usual. 56 surfaces of the flag will be sold to the fans and in return their name will be printed on the flag.

80 levels

The finish flag consists of a total of 80 surfaces, the remaining 24 surfaces will be allocated to the promoter of each race, who can distribute these surfaces to his own fans or guests as he sees fit. In any case it is the intention to print all 80 surfaces with names and other references.

At the end of the race, the flag will be divided into the respective surfaces, so that each buyer will receive a piece of the flag. It goes without saying that whoever buys a flag will get his own flag back. This piece will be framed and delivered with a picture of the flag in action, as well as a hologram to prove its authenticity.

On the website F1 Authentics you can buy a piece of the flag for 199 pounds. The first flag has already been sold, but the coming flags will also be offered on this website. For example, the flag of the Styrian Grand Prix (second race in Austria) will be available on the website from 6th of July.
