Vettel was expecting more from qualifying in Austria

Sebastian Vettel will have to play catch up at tomorrow's Austrian Grand Prix after he qualified 11th.The Ferrari driver wasn't expecting his early elimination in qualifying, but he's looking for revenge on Sunday.

"Of course it's a surprise," Vettel explained following qualifying in Austria.

"We thought more would be possible. It seems that the others probably used a little more fuel and were a little more conservative in free practice than we had estimated."

The SF1000 wasn't quite to Vettel's liking either. The set-up wasn't quite ideal according to the four-time world champion. "I wasn't quite happy with the car. I had more oversteer in the corners than I would have liked."

Vettel will start tomorrow from the sixth row of the grid in eleventh place. Because he is outside the top ten he can choose which tyres he wants to start on and so it is very well possible that he will start on the mediums.

"We'll see, but tomorrow will be different anyway. The track temperature increased quite a bit, that wasn't to our advantage. Tomorrow will be a long race. We'll be there to make up the ground and score good points."
