Robert Kubica made the switch to Alfa Romeo after a disappointing comeback as a Formula 1 driver at Williams in 2019. At the Italian he currently is the first test and reserve driver. This weekend he will do his first laps on the Red Bull Ring is Alfa's test driver.

Robert will take over the seat from Antonio Giovinazzi during the first free practice for the Styrian Grand Prix. It was already known before the season that Kubica would be granted some trarck time during the free practice sessions, but now it is confirmed for the second race on the Red Bull Ring.

Alfa Romeo could use a little help

Kubica is known for its valuable feedback for the development and tuning of a car. Knowledge that Alfa Romeo can put to good use at the moment, as they were apparently the slowest team on the grid during the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend. Kubica is in any case happy to get back on board.

“I am looking forward to returning to action this weekend, especially after the long break the whole world of motorsport had to observe. My objective, as always, is to provide as much data as possible for our engineers and to give them my feedback from within the cockpit."
